Apple has donated about 63,000 N-95 masks for Alabama healthcare providers to help in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic, Gov. Kay Ivey said on Twitter.
Ivey tweeted a thanks to Apple and CEO Tim Cook, an Auburn University graduate.
Apple has been active globally in trying to provide supplies to fight the spread of COVID-19. The company also developed a screening tool in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control to help people determine if they need to be tested
The limited supply of protective equipment for health workers is one of the concerns about how to provide care as the caseload rises.
