Donations of more than 300 pounds of pet food along with pet treats, blankets, disinfectant cleaning supplies, towels and more than $200 in cash were given to Paws and Claws Care Center in Apache Junction this week.
The Superstition Mountain Museum staff, visitors and volunteers collected the donations over the past several months in order to help Apache Junction Police Department’s animal care department, according to a release.
Paws and Claws Care Center, 725 E. Baseline Ave., rescues and boards stray and homeless pets for adoption.
The Superstition Mountain Museum, just north of Apache Junction on State Route 88, collects and preserves the history and legends of Superstition Mountain. The museum, 4087 N. Apache Trail, supports research, education and publications involving the region. Go to superstitionmountainmuseum.org.
