REFILE-TABLE-India’s Sept oil imports rose 19% y/y – trade

    NEW DELHI, Oct 14 (Reuters) - India's oil imports in September rose by 19% from a year earlier to 4.14 million
barrel per day (bpd), data from industry sources showed, as refiners are raising runs expecting a recovery in fuel
demand with revival of economic activity.
    India's fuel demand last month rose by 5.2% from a year earlier with gasoline demand continue to rise above
pre-pandemic level, government data showed.
    Oil imports last month was down by about 1.7% from August, the data showed.
    Last month, Iraq continued to be top oil supplier to India followed by Saudi Arabia. The United Arab Emirates
improved its ranking by a notch to emerge as the third biggest supplier while Nigeria climbed to No. 4 compared to
6th position in August.
    Canada emerged as fifth largest supplier to India.
    In September, India raised imports from Latin America while lifting less from Middle Eastern producers.
 
    The sources declined to be identified as they are not authorised to speak to the media.
